The place to be in Marrakech. During the day the square is an open-air marketplace, linking a labyrinth of souks with the Kotoubia mosque and other historic sites. At night it transforms, with thousands of people enjoying the food stalls, acrobats, snake charmers, storytellers and magical atmosphere. The square has been recognized by UNESCO’s Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity designation. Even a bombing in 2011 couldn’t shake centuries of dynamic fusion of history and culture that is Jemaa el F’naa.
